Ius scholae, Meloni to Forza Italia: “It’s not in the program, let’s deal with something else”

"The centre-right is made up of different political forces, on some issues there are different sensitivities: I think it's normal otherwise we would be a single party but it's the reason why we decided to draw up a programme and the reason why I think it would be useful for everyone" to concentrate "on the priorities indicated in the programme on which we all agree, citizenship is not among these". This is what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said while speaking at the Forum in Masseria about the ius scholae proposed by Forza Italia .
The prime minister also spoke about international issues. On the war in Ukraine she said: "The United States has not stopped supplying weapons and support to Ukraine, they have reviewed the decision to supply specific components" a fact "significant but very different from the total American disengagement that has been reported. I myself have spoken to Donald Trump with whom I spoke" about Kiev and "also about" duties, "I hope for positive developments on the issue".
On the duties, Meloni comments: "I can't say what will happen, as you well know the competence lies with the EU Commission which is following the negotiations with the US, on the Italian side we have worked to ensure that the relationship was certainly frank but constant, aimed at trying to resolve the problems together". And she adds: "We are satisfied to have rebuilt a dialogue that seemed interrupted and now it is continuous, we are all doing our part but I cannot go into what the agreements will be".
